Wet room switches and sockets with reliable IP44 protection
Where electrical installations may come into greater contact with moisture, splash water or dirt, appropriately protected components are required. This is exactly what the “TAFF” wet room switch series is designed for. The protection class IP44 indicates protection against solid foreign bodies from 1 mm and against splash water from all directions. This makes the IP44 switches and IP44 sockets a suitable solution for basements, garages, laundry rooms, workshops, storage rooms, garden sheds, carports and suitable protected outdoor areas. Since the components are mounted directly on the wall as a surface-mounted version, switching points and power connections can also be implemented where flush-mounted installation is not planned or would only be possible with great effort.
Different switching functions are available within the series, so that the installation can be tailored to specific needs. In addition to classic switches, the range also includes buttons, double buttons, double toggle switches and cross switches, as well as buttons and control switches with lighting. Illuminated versions are particularly practical in darker places as the switching point is easier to see. For wet room sockets, a self-closing spring cover protects the socket insert when it is not in use. Single, double and triple versions also make it possible to choose the number of power connections required to suit the location of use.
Dual-function units and sets for flexible damp-room installations
Not every installation scenario can be effectively addressed using individual switches and sockets alone. That is why the range includes compact dual-function units that combine two features into a single assembly. For instance, a double socket provides multiple connection points within a relatively small footprint, while a combination unit - featuring both a socket and a switch - integrates power supply and lighting control at a single installation point. Another advantage is that these units can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, depending on the available space. This makes them just as suitable for placement next to a door frame as they are for installation above a workbench or on narrow wall sections.
Sets containing carefully curated components are also available for recurring installation requirements. These simplify the selection process, as the necessary parts for a specific application are already sensibly combined. At the same time, the damp-room switch range retains its flexibility through the availability of individual components: from single surface-mounted switches or sockets and multiple-socket units to combined switch-and-socket solutions, the setup can be tailored to the room and the desired functionality. The result is a surface-mounted installation that avoids unnecessary bulk while providing exactly the switching and connection options required for the specific location.
