IP44 switches and sockets – protected against foreign objects and splashing water
The IP44 protection rating makes this switch series suitable for damp areas where moisture and splashing water may occur. The first digit, "4," indicates protection against solid foreign objects with a diameter of 1mm or larger, as well as protection against access by a wire. The second digit, "4," signifies protection against splashing water from any direction. Consequently, IP44 switches and sockets offer vital additional protection for electrical installations and are ideal for use in basements, garages, workshops, laundry rooms, or other similarly demanding environments.
The product range includes, among other items, two-way switches, pilot-light switches, a damp-proof socket with a hinged cover and an IR motion detector. The hinged cover provides extra protection for the socket outlet against external elements when not in use. A pilot-light switch features an indicator light that clearly shows the current switching status - a practical feature for lighting or appliances that are not directly visible from the switch location. Meanwhile, the IR motion detector enables automatic lighting control upon detecting movement, thereby enhancing convenience in passageways, basements, or utility rooms. Thanks to their surface-mounted design, these components are particularly well-suited for installations where wiring and switches cannot or should not be recessed into the wall.
Combine horizontally or vertically - flexible solutions with suitable wet room sets
In addition to individual surface-mounted switches and surface-mounted sockets, practical double combinations are available. Depending on the version, switches and sockets can be arranged horizontally or vertically and thus adapted to the existing installation area. This offers a clear advantage, especially when space is limited or there are fixed cable routes. Instead of mounting several individual components next to each other, required functions can be combined in a compact manner. A double socket also creates two connection options at one installation point and is suitable, for example, where several electrical devices are used regularly.
Coordinated sets complement the wet room switch series for different requirements. They combine suitable components for typical installation situations and thereby make it easier to select related products. Depending on the application, for example, switching and socket functions can be sensibly combined with each other without having to put together the required individual items separately. The “IP44 switch systems” series therefore offers a wide range of options for a clear and needs-based surface-mounted installation - from the individual wet room switch to the protected surface-mounted socket to the space-saving combination and the practical complete set.
